Summary: | Potato peels (Solanum tuberosum L.) contain several potential compounds
that can be used for decreasing the pain, such as phenolic compound and
flavonoid. Phenolic compound and flavonoid are chemical compound that have
function as anti-inflammatory and analgesic. The aim of this study is to determine
the concentrate effect of potato peel ethanol extract as anti-nociceptive of wihite
rats.
The study subjects consisted of 25 male white rats (Rattus norvegicus)
wistar strain 3 months old. Subjects were divided into five groups, namely the
negative control group (aquades), potato peel ethanol extract treatment (10, 20,
and 40 mg/ 200 g BW), and positive control group (using acetaminophen). Each
group of rats were placed into hot plate 600C constantly.
The result of one way ANOVA showed that there was significantly
concentrate effect among the groups (p<0.05). 20 mg/ 200 g BW concentrate of
potato peel ethanol extract had the highest mean than 10 and 40 mg/200 g BW
concentrate. LSD test showed that the highest mean of treatment test had
significant difference than negative control (p<0.05). The conclusion is 20 and 40
mg/200 g BW of potato peel ethanol extracts had an effect as anti-nociceptive of
white rats.
