Summary: | Steam power plant of Suralaya as one of electricity supplier needs in Java-
Bali undergoes inefficiency through material handling system. One of those is coal
facing dead stock and caused decreasing its value. It affects to electricity supply
becoming un-maximum and wasteful of coal expense which used to be known as
unrenewable energy. In this research, new layout of UBP Suralaya is given to be
analyzed and quantified risk failure of system.
This research uses two scnearios that layout is re-made by putting all more
important facilities. Material flow is directly made and has FIFO system. It helps
system to reclaim coal without long time stockpilling. Layout result is counted its
availability by Fault Tree Analyis and taken the best one. Then backup system is
available therefore when system faces accident, it can still perform to supply
electricity.
From both scenarios, availability value is quite same but still higher 0,003
from existing model and scenario 2 is choosen because it can raise more 12
locations than scenario 1 in UBP Suralaya.
