| Summary: | This graduating paper aims to describe the definition of small scale
industry and its criterias, also to investigate whether Warung Jadah Tempe Mbah
Carik Kaliurang is part of small scale industry or not. Then, it explaines the
production process that happens in this stall. In this graduating paper, I give
further explanation about the steps in production process, starts from the pre
production, the process of making jadah tempe, and the post production.
The methods of collecting data were direct observation, interview,
documentation, field notes, library and internet research. I interviewed the
manager of Warung Jadah Tempe Mbah Carik Kaliurang and its employees, also
took documentation for every activities in there. The writer also read some books
and article from internet which are related to small scale industry, Kaliurang,
jadah tempe, and production.
As the result, the definition of small scale industry depends on several
factors, for instance: the ownership, wealth or earnings, and the number of
employee. In addition, based on the criterias, Warung Jadah Tempe Mbah Carik
Kaliurang is part of small scale industry. Meanwhile, the production process in
this stall is using traditional equipments to keep the characteristic of its jadah
tempe.
