description Skeleton is an organ that serves as passive motion and support the body. The morphology of the body was formed by the skeleton, so that it can be distinguished between one species to another. The morphology of the skeleton is different in each development because of differentiation. Differentiation skeleton on every type of fish is different depending on the age. Skeleton formation generally occurs after hatching when the yolk supplies are exhausted. Fish skeleton formation also be related with food and movement. The purpose of this research is to study the differentiation of skeletal ossification on Rasbora lateristriata on the several postlarva stadium (stadium juvenile, preadult, and adult). Fish were fixed with alcohol 96% and stained with dye Alizarin Red and Alcian Blue. Data were analyzed descriptively. Skeleton of R. lateristriata has ossified. Rasbora lateristriata juvenile cartilage was seen in mesopterygoid, ethmoid, lacrimal, radial 1 and 2, scapula, stick pterygiophor, pterygiophor distal, hypural, parypural, neural spine and haemal spines of cauda fin. Preadult stadium part still not ossified is mesopterygoid. In the adult R. lateristriata skeleton has been completely ossify. Differences developmental of R. lateristriata skeleton can bee seen at every stadium postlarva.
