Summary:Background: Hospital always has the same problem everyday, dan how the hospital solve the problem was not effective. The problem than keep coming in the way called waste. According to the result of patients satisfaction survey at the out patient unit of General Hospital of Sulawesi Tenggara Province, showed a low number in patients satisfaction. This result can be caused by many, and one of it is the long time waiting for service. To reduce the waiting time with identification and minimize waste. Objective: This research objective is to identificate the waste, identificate the cause of waste and suggest the solution to minimize waiting time by minimizing waste found at Internal disease clinic of General Hospital of Sulawesi Tenggara Province. Method: An explanatory case study with a single-case embedded design at General Hospital of Sulawesi Tenggara Province. This research identificate the waste in internal disease clinic in a participatory observation. The subject in this research was the patients in internal disease clinic and the hospital worker. The source of data taken from participatory observation and in-interview. Result: Waste happened at Internal disease clinic of General Hospital of Sulawesi Tenggara Province was waste of waiting, the cause was the physician and other worker not obey the rules of service time, delayed patient medical record and the patient not complete fill in the registration form. Waste of motion, the cause of it was the distance between registration place, medical record and clinic, and the cause of waste of transportation was not adequate information of service process pathway at waste found at Internal disease clinic of General Hospital of Sulawesi Tenggara Province. Conclusion and recommendation: The waste found at Internal disease clinic of General Hospital of Sulawesi Tenggara Province were waste of waiting, waste of motion and waste of transportation. The hospital need to look again at the registration place, the clinic, and medical record and applied computerized system.
