Summary:Some Japanese passive sentences could be translate into Javanese language using passive prefix markers without specific suffixes, and some of them must be followed by suffix -i and -ake. Therefore, there is a need to do some research to understand the similarities and differences between passive sentences in Japanese language and Javanese language. Analysis method used in this research was contrastive analysis. Sentences were analyzed consist of Japanese direct passive sentences, indirect passive sentences, and possessive passive sentences.
