Summary:Ceramics commonly is strong material, hard and corrosive resistance. These characteristics are based on the low density and the high melting point which makes ceramics as attractive structural material. The major limitations of ceramics is its fragility, i.e. it tends to break suddenly with a slight plastic deformation. The goal of this research is to investigate the effect of kaolin and quartz composition in CMC (Ceramic Matrix Composite) which its matrix or the main substance is clay. Kaolin is ceramic material which has high quality of strength when it is burned in the high temperature. Quartz has function as filler material which increase the hardness of ceramic material and also reduce the shrinkage of material when it is being burned in higher temperature. The research is done by using three kinds of compositions that are with percentage 100% of clay
