Description
Summary:Yogyakarta is the capital and administrative center of Yogyakarta with 4 central road corridor, the corridor Mangkubumi Street, Malioboro, Sultan Palace, and Stage Krapyak. The road corridor with the highest degree of mobility of visitors is Jalan Malioboro. Government of Yogyakarta make special lane pedestrian corridor along Malioboro road in the 1980 to facilitate the mobility needs of visitors, but traffic density on Malioboro/A.Yani street increased which makes pedestrian lane become street vendors area and illegal parking. Therefore, to restore function in the pedestrian area need to restructure Malioboro that prioritize pedestrians and non-motorized transport and public transport. In this research, modeling of existing conditions and the Malioboro area which will require 3 conditions modeling scenarios to arrange pedestrian area in the form of the closure of Malioboro street with new movement access of visitors and residents around the Malioboro area and also alternative parking in the outline of Malioboro area. Scenarios applied to this study include the provision of off street parking in Abu Bakar Ali, former Indra building, and the Office of Tourism Department of Yogyakarta. Application of the off street parking pockets is done in stages for each scenario. The best application scenario is scenario 3, that the provision of off street parking pockets in Abu Bakar Ali, former Indra building, and the Office of Tourism Department of Yogyakarta. In scenario 3 conditions achieved the best condition of application scenarios in overcoming problems that arise with the new arrangement in the pedestrian area of Malioboro, with average delay 2 minute 43 second of the road network, average queue length 63.1 second, the intersection average rate of CO2 pollution 106200 grams/hour, and the intersection average rate of NOx pollution 63 grams/hour. Application of the off street parking pockets on scenario 3 is able to facilitate the parking needs because parking pockets placed spread on the north and south of Malioboro area.
