Summary: | A maximum efficiency control for a dual-PMSM drive system is presented in this thesis. The torque sharing between two motors is optimized by using the perturbation and observation method. A fuzzy-logic controller is implemented to improve the performance of the perturbation and observation method. As a result, the step of perturbation can be adaptively modified to achieve faster time response and to reduce steady state oscillation. In addition, a simple calculation is used to achieve real-time efficiency measurement. The proposed method is implemented on two identical 2 kW permanent magnet synchronous motors connected in parallel. The experimental results show that the proposed method achieve faster time response and smaller steady state oscillation compared to the conventional perturbation and observation method. The proposed method can optimize the torque sharing of two motors to obtain maximum efficiency in several operating speed and load. The optimal torque ratio can be achieved in a sudden load change as well. |
