Summary:The composition of Indonesian primer energy mixing is oil 46,93 %, coal 26,38 %, gas 21,9 % and new and renewable energy 4,79 %. 2025, Indonesia will increase the percentage of new and renewable energy more than 17 %. Hydro energy is one of new and renewable energy component. The development projection for hydro is 6866,9 MW in 2012 to 16799,2 in 2025. Limitation of hydro turbine in Indonesia is a challenge to support it. Hydro turbine design is part of to answer that challenge. This research will develop the application of design calculating for hydro turbine including Pelton, Francis and Kaplan. The development of this application using a method of software engineering that is waterfall model. The application is built with Gambas programming. Design calculation of this application consists of head, capacity, rotational speed and turbine dimension. The result of this research is an application for design calculation of hydro turbine (Pelton, Francis and Kaplan) with Gambas. Some case study of head of 300, 40 and 30 meters and flowrate of 5,5 and 10 m3/s and rotational speed of 250, 500 and 1000 rpm has been tested to demonstrate the capabilities of the design software tool
