efforts for controlling birth.This research aims is to find out the relationship and
the influence of the factors of weak motivation for fertility control (woman�s age,
intention to use contraception in the future), availability of family planning
services (location of residence, wealth index, knowledge of contraception), health
concerns and fear of side effects (the experience of using contraception,
contraceptive counseling), social, cultural, or familial disapproval of
contraception (communication with husband, discussions with the family) which
are considered as predictors that could affect the occurrence of the unmet need.
This step is important for improving family planning services, that the
determinant in this research then matched with the family planning programs
undertaken by the government.
This research is a quantitative study using the data of Indonesian DHS
2012. The statistical test that used is chi square and binary logistic regression
with CI 95% and p < 0,05. Analysis was performed according to three categories
of regions, namely Indonesia, Java-Bali, and outer Java-Bali.
The result of this study showed that there was a significant effect between
the woman�s age, location of residence, wealth index, knowledge of
contraception, the experience of using contraception, contraceptive counseling,
communication with husband, and discussions with the family to the unmet need.
The most influence factors on the unmet need in Indonesian and outer Java-Bali is
communication with husband, while in Java-Bali is contraceptive counseling.
There are differences factors in the model of binary logistic regression between
regions that affect the unmet need. Determinants of unmet need has responded in
the program of BKKBN. |
