| description | Attention deficit / hyperactivity disorder ( GPP / H ) is a neurobehavioral
disorder with symptoms of persisten inability to concentrate, which does not
comply with the development of age with or without hyperactivity and
impulsivity.
This study aims to determine whether watching television and playing
video games is a risk factor for GPP / H at primary school in the city of
Yogyakarta.
The study used a case control . Subjects were primary school students
grade I � IV. The case group are those with ADHD based on ACTRS, DSM-IV,
and WISC test. Each case is matched to a control on the basis of gender, age, class
and school. Data was analyzed using chi square and calculate odds ratio and
confidence intervals with logistic regression.
The prevalance of ADHD among primary students in Yogyakarta is
5,47%, the male to female ratio is 4 to 1. The significant risk factors of ADHD in
this study from the univariat analyze are watching TV more than two hours ( OR
2,67 95%CI 1,29-5, 49 |
