description Background: Atopic dermatitis is a chronic disease which prevalence tends to increase not only in developed countries but also in developing countries. One of strategies to assess the risk factors for atopic dermatitis is using allergy trace card. The advantage of this card is easy, practical, can be done by health workers and parents. Objective: To assess the relationship between allergy trace card score and atopic dermatitis in children. Methods: This study use case control study design. Children with atopic dermatitis aged 0-5 years were recruited as cases. Controls were healthy children matched with age, no tobacco smoke exposure and no furry pets at house. Subjects were then grouped based on high, moderate and low allergic scores. Statistical analysis using Chi Square test, significance level expressed in Confidence Intervals (CI) 95% to the respective odds ratios (OR). Results: A total of 87% of the children in the case group had higher scores of early detection, compared to 13% in the control group. Children with high scores had 10 times the odds of suffering from atopic dermatitis scores compared with children with moderate and low scores (p = 0.001 , 95% CI 2-50,6). Manifestations of allergic mothers had a strong association with the incidence of atopic dermatitis in children than fathers and siblings manifestation. Conclusion:Allergy trace card score have a relationship with atopic dermatitis in children.
