description The purpose of this study is to understand the dynamics psychology of men who become fathers in their teens, and patterns of dyadic family and triadic family play important role in the formation of father�s role meaning for teenage fathers. This study using qualitative method with phenomenology approach. Respondents were six adolescents father, which consist of three teenage fathers were forced to marry because of unwanted pregnancy, and three teenage fathers who were not forced to marry because they decided to get merried in their teens and family pattern in dyadic and triadic family. Results showed that both of the category teenage fathers who forced to marry and not forced to marry had both suffered regret due to marry in their teens. They regrets related to limited education, employment, as well as dissatisfaction enjoy adolescence, which is a major problem faced by teenage fathers. Teenage father interpreted father�s role as a responsibilities implemented in breadwinner role as a primary role of father, because it is not only economical but also means psychologically associated with self-esteem of men. Father�s role is relational involving teenage mother and child. Father�s role is defined as a spouse and caregiver, working with mother of the child to build healthy relationships for both father�s and child�s developmental and well-being. Teen fathers with dyadic family feel more independent, confident and express themselves freely, rather than in triadic family prone to conflict due to sharing resources with other family members. So they believes that dyadic family patterns as the ideal for them. Keywords: teenage fathers, psychology of regret, dyadic and triadic family.
