Description
Summary:This thesis aims to expose, analyze and discover the relevance of Agambens thoughts in reading Ahmadiyahs cases in Indonesia. Agambens ideas call relations in question sovereignty and life of group of minority and marginalized people in which their life are reduced into bare life through biopolitics. In the bare life, they have nothing other than their humanity, in fact, they are deprived of their rights. For it, this thesis uses hermeneutics. Hermeneutics is a method to uncover meanings behind the text. When humanistic-etic Agambens thoughts are used to know of Ahmadiyyas cases, it seems that state has reduced them into bare life. The behavior of state towards Ahmadiyya of Indonesian history can be shown on two forms below: Firstly, the State has suspended the rule of law on existence of Ahmadiyya. Legal existence of Ahmadiyya as a civil organization has been suspended of law. The suspension of state towards legal existence of Ahmadiyya by letting them in violence of life. The suspension of law significantly appears in Surat Keputusan Bersama (SKB) tiga menteri, namely, minister of Religious Affairs, and Chief Prosecutor and Interior Minister nomor 3 tahun 2008, nomor: kep.033/A/JA.6/2008, nomor: 199 tahun 2008 tentang Peringatan dan Perintah Kepada Penganut, Anggota dan/atau Anggota Pengurus Jemaat Indonesia (JAI) dan Warga Masyarakat. The secondly, The State has reduced Ahmadiyya to the bare life through politics of exclusion. This exclusion can be known in three states behaviors: stigmatizing of sesat and abandoning. State has stigmatized sesat is based on religions fatwa of mainstream muslim and also has permitted their life in violence. State has preserved Ahmadiyah by letting them in refuge. The suspension and exclusion of State to Ahmadiyya has defined them as Homo Sacer and The Muselmann. As homo sacer, they are removed not only on double exclusion but also on total exclusion. They are not only excluded in religion and politics but also in social and economic and law environment. As The Muselmann, they are considered as horrifying spectacle for everyone. They are nothing than zombie, the death living.
