Summary: | This study aims to compare the REDD+ applied in Brazil and Indonesia. Applying
REDD+ is one of the global warming preventive mechanisms through absorbing the
forest carbon by avoiding the forest degradation and deforestation. Brazil and
Indonesia committed to joint an attempt to decrease the climate change effects. The
initiative of both nations in applying the REDD+ would be seen from how far they
applied it using the human security base. The aim of this research is to investigate the
REDD+ implementation in Brazil and Indonesia through human security perspective
analysis.
The method employed in present research is a descriptive qualitative. The
type of this research is a library research using the data collection technique from
several relevant references in the form of book, journal, newspaper, and other
documents. This study focuses on the analysis of REDD+ applied in Brazil and
Indonesia in the human security perspective.
Research result demonstrates that the implementations of REDD+ both in
Indonesia and Brazil have some comparable aspects especially the government
support, community support, and human security base in applying the REDD+. There
is a crucial difference in order to place human security in the REDD+ implementation
in Brazil and Indonesia
