Summary: | A political party is political institution that should there be a necessity in a democratic system. Democratic political system in Indonesia is an option to realize the ideal of the nation and state. Improvements of the quality of political parties are one of the elements to achieve a good quality democracy. This study discussed the perception of youth with national political parties participating in the election of 2014 and its implications for political resilience in Banten province. The study focused on the Indonesian Youth National Committee (KNPI) Banten Province.
This research used descriptive qualitative study which describes the complex a social phenomenon that occurred in the community. The instruments of collecting data are observation, in-depth and open interview accompanied by documentation. Interviewing the board members of KNPI Banten province, they are fifteen informants who meet the specified criteria or research done by purposive sampling. Then analyzed by three grooves activities performed simultaneously, namely data reduction, data presentation, inference or verification.
The results of this research were youth perceptions of the political parties contesting the 2014 election argues that the political parties have not done functioning political parties well. The function of the political party has not been done were a function of political communication, political socialization function of education or politics, political recruitment function, and the function of regulating conflict. The state used multi-party party system was deemed to be too many in number. The vision and mission of a political party was considered not consistent with the reality of programs activities. The quality of cadre and the achievement of political parties were deemed to have minimal to encourage improvements in people's lives. Implications perception of youth toward political resilience in the region of Banten impact on the government's legitimacy declining, government policies were not supported by the youth, and youth political participation was low. Increased youth views on distrust of law enforcement, political democracy system cannot be seen pushing political stability was good because it can only be done procedurally not touch the substance of democratic values. These conditions were threatening the resilience of implications for politics in the province of Banten.
