Summary:Traditional art is an ancestral heritage that must be preserved, because it has an important role as a national identity of uniting and showing national identity. Benjang is one of the traditional Indonesian arts precisely located in District Ujungberung Bandung West Java. The study discusses about Benjang art traditional aimed to determine the development of the existence of Benjang art, and to determine the role of youth in Benjang to support of the existence of art in order to increase Regional Culture resilience. The study used descriptive qualitative method with four steps: (1) observations, (2) In depth interviews to critic of Benjang art, chairman of the Paguyuban Benjang, leader of group Benjang Mekar Jaya, head of Sanggar Seni Rengkak Katineung, and 14 young�s Benjang performers. (3) Collecting documents. (4) Collecting audio-visual material. The results of this study are: (1) The role of youth in the preservation of traditional arts Benjang: the first youth as the heir of traditional art Benjang, the second, the youth as the owners of traditional art Benjang, the third the youth as the perpetrators of traditional art Benjang, the fourth the youth as the innovator in the art of traditional Benjang, and the fifth the youth as the educator in the traditional arts Benjang (2) the youth faced in constraints the preservation of traditional arts Benjang: first, shortage of funds in development of traditional art of Benjang, both the lack of government involvement in the development of traditional arts Benjang, third, no participation of academics in the management and traditional art performances Benjang packaging, fourth, lack of understanding of art aesthetics the artists Benjang, and fifth, massive influx of foreign culture. (3) The implications of the resilience of regional culture are: growing awareness of youth identity of region, change the traditional art Benjang without violating its authenticity, ward of foreign art and culture that does not comply with the traditional art.
