Summary: | This thesis analyzes the role of social media in the protests in Egypt and Syria which of
the social media and network access is so vast that we can get anything or any information
concerning the matter, even of social media we can interact with people the guy who is not on or
is not in our country. From this it can be seen that the role of social media in the development of
information to the public intrnasional so broad that it can be ascertained also the impact of social
media is also quite a lot. One consequence is the occurrence of communication with the various
networks around the world. And this leads to the existence of an interaction when things happen
that are not desirable or not in accordance with the wishes of the users of social media. And this
led to the emergence of provocation between one another. From this arises protest provocation of
various countries through social media is the media and through social public opinion can be
channeled, but because of social media and its website exaggerate these things, make the protests
in Egypt and Syria and not only protest but the violence caused by protespun occurs mainly at
Egypt and Syria.
This study aims to sensitize the public that the role of social media in providing
information could be misused so as to lead to violence and protests as happened at countries
which indeed they are conflict-prone countries.
Results from this study is that not at all news delivered in social media is valid, but any
news in social media has definitely respective interests in accordance with the newsmakers. It
can be seen from the network that can be accessed from social media is so vast and news written
at social media, especially in Egypt and Syria is originated from a variety of public opinion or
pooling together their vision of a thing so that their mission in revolusipun achieved. And this vision of unification could provoke public opinion and mass gathering so that there was a protest
that turned violent.
