Summary: | Background: Hospital is one of the healthcare chain that has a primary
fuction as place of healing and patient recovery. Along with increased
education and socio economic situation, the value system and orientations
in society began to change. People start demanding better public services,
more friendly and more quality. Central sterile supply department is units
service located in the prevention of infection. Central sterile supply
department is very dependent on other support units such as medical
services, medical support services and other installation. The activities in
Central sterile supply department that take place at the hospital in need of
full support from top management at the hospital. If there is resistance on
one of the sub units or less then the management support will eventually
interfere with the process and results of sterilization.
Objective: To evaluate the affect of CSSD management the quality of care
in hospital sterilization.
Method: This research is a case study, using a type of qualitative research
with descriptive research method. Steps being taken is to conduct focused
data collection, through in-depth interviews to the head of the central
sterilization unit installation in both hospital and focused discussions
(FGD) to the implementers and the staff in the unit installation sterrilisasi
center, as well as observations of the implementation of the management
center installation sterilization at both hospitals.
Result and discussion: Pertamina Central Hospital and Fatmawati at the
implementation stage has many shortcomings, namely a lack of support
and commitment from both the leadership of the hospital workforce, layout
and spacious building that does not meet the standards set kemenkes.
Results of quality assessment in the operating room with the management
at the central sterilization unit installation tool accuracy criteria Pertamina
Central Hospital 95%, 92% Fatmawati, speed of response time 42.9%
damage and 40%, delay in operation due to provision of 2% and 2 %.
While all of the existing criteria in installation guidelines sterilization center
at the hospital, PCH RSUPF get 83% and 91%
Conclusion and recommendation:
Application of plant management in hospital sterilization centers should be
supported from all sides. Support in the form of organizational commitment
both by top leaders and managers at the unit - the unit. So that will get
results and good quality service for the community.
