Summary: | Challenges of globalization are increasingly more complex which encourage
organizations to further empower the potential of team. Diversity in knowledges,
skills and abilities possessed by each individual in team that caused team was
able to achieve more complex goals than individual. In response to such
diversity, task cohesiveness was considered as an effective approach to
optimize the potential of team in achieving goals. In order for a team can be a
task-cohesive is required feedback method that involving team members and
aimed at the development,such as developmental peer appraisal. This study
aimed to examine the effect of the application of developmental peer appraisals
to increase the cohesiveness tasks to team members. This research is a quasi
experimental design with untreated control group design with pretest and
posttest. Subjects are Waroeng Special Sambal�s workers consisting of 30
persons. Subjects were divided into two groups : experimental group and control
group where each group consisting of 15 persons. The experimental group was
given the treatment of the application of developmental peer appraisal. Two
weeks after being given treatment, task cohesiveness was measure by using
modified task cohesiveness scale compiled by Beaubien (2003) and Carless and
De Paola (2001) consisting of nine item. Analysis of data was using a nonparametric
test of Mann-Whitney. The study showed that task cohesiveness did
not increase significantly after implementation of developmental peer appraisal (Z
= -1.222, p> 0.05).
