| description | Background : Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) has been known as an objective, valid, and reliable assessment to measure clinical competence that is crucial in health profession education. Indonesian dental competence test (Uji Kompetensi Dokter Gigi Indonesia) has started at 2007 and had been developed for several times on its assessment method. OSCE has implemented in UKDGI since 2012 as a part of test high stake examination with full responsibly result, it is necessary for such test to have the best quality. Evaluation in every component of the test acts as the quality control of OSCE. Every question/stations has to be evaluated in order to make a distinct description of OSCE quality which will be implemented on the test. Aim:This study aimed to assess the quality of question/stations that tested in National Dental Competence Examining of Indonesia (UKDGI) period of 2012 and 2013. Method: This study was analytic descriptive study using secondary data of checklist that has taken in OSCE UKDGI period of 2012 – 2013. Data were analyzed using 5 metric of Pell method that consist of Cronbach’s alpha, coefficient of determination R2, inter-grade discrimination, number of failured, and between group variation to determine the quality of each item/station OSCE that has tested and analyze factor that influence analysis result between metric . This measurement will describe the quality of OSCE UKDGI which has tested in period of 2012 -2013. Result: Result of this study indicate that only 22 stations between 64 tested in OSCE UKDGI in 2012 - 2013 has R2 coefficient > 0.5. Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient value in OSCE UKDGI year of 2012-2013 were about 0.415 - 0.719. There are a candidate with a very low score and there is a very wide spread of values that affect the increase of value of inter-grade discrimination of stations in the OSCE UKDGI periode of 2012-2013. The results showed that the rate of failure of the station that obtained by physical examination and psychomotor domains station that obtained by the ability of science degree in dental radiology has the highest failure rate than stations that measure the psychomotor domain and other disciplines. Sixteen station of 64 tested in OSCE UKDGI has score variation >30%. Conclusion : It is necessary to increase the quality of stations that has tested in OSCE UKDGI period of 2012 – 2013 if those station were expected to be used in a future. |
