Description
Summary:This paper reports two independent preliminary works in implementing a receive-diversity technique. These works are re-observation of a previously constructed RFcombiner and preliminary observation of DVB-T2 receive-signal. The RF-combiner was designed to operate below 200 MHz, therefore should be future modified to support UHF band. Using commercial (consumer) DVB-T2 receiver, received signal can be monitored by two quantities: signal-intensity and signal-quality. Value which is required as high as possible is the signal-quality, not the signal-intensity. This preliminary observation gives a guidance that one of efforts to improve the signal quality is by minimizing the multipath effect. Space-diversity, of course, is expected to be able to do that. Keywords—multipath, receive-diversity, OFDM, DVB, RFcombiner.
