description | This research was aimed to determine the effect of utilization chitosan-turmeric extract in broiler chicken diet as an immunomodulator. Ninety six broiler chickens were used in this research. Those age were 2-5 weeks. The chickens were divided into 8 treatment groups of the feed additive addition. Each group was consist of 3 replications. Each replication was consist of 4 broiler chickens. The treatments were Basal Diet, BD (PI), BD + chitosan 0.1% (P2), BD + turmeric extract 0.1% (P3), BD + Tripolyphosphate 0.1% (P4), BD + chitosan-turmeric extract (in nanoparticle, NP) 0.2% (P5), BD + chitosan-turmeric extracts (NP) 0.4% (P6), BD + chitosan-turmeric extracts (NP) 0.6% (P7), and BD + chitosan-turmeric extract (NP) 0.8% (P8). The parameter which observed were antibody titers using hemaglutination inhibition test (HI test), leuchocytes, and limphocytes. The collected data were analyzed using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) and continoued by tested using Duncan's New Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The result showed that the addition of chitosan-turmeric extract in the broiler chicken diet was significanly affect (P<0.05) to limphocytes and antibody titers before the vaccine. The results showed not significant difference (P>0.05) on leuchocytes and antibody titers after the vaccine. It can be concluded that the addition of chitosan-turmeric extract in broiler diet as an immunomodulator can not increase leucocyte, limphocytes, and can not increase the antibody titers of broiler chickens against ND virus.
