description A study was conducted to investigate the detoxification of reflex with fomesafen as active substance which were applied on Axonopus compressus leaves and its distri¬bution in the plant as well as in Synedrella nodiflora. The results revealed that the detoxification occurred particularly with oxidation of fomesafen, proceeded by its translocation from leaves to stolons. The herbicide phytotoxicity was due to the accu¬mulation of fomesafen in leaves. Cutieular layer thickness, trichomes and stomata numbers were also observed as supporting data.
