| Summary: | The Republic of Indonesia Act no. 12 of 1992 on "Plant Cultivation System" states that, farmers have a freedom to make selections on plant variety and its cultivation. For the reason, it needs the options of farm operation technology applied by the farmers. Those are the best variety of palawija (secondary plants), rice varieties, plant disease (pest) controlling and balance fertilizer use.
This article would analyze the factors which influencing the selection of technology of the farmers by using a Multiple Choice Model. The effects of these factors on the farmers income using coefficient of variation and to know the influence of the farmers' behavior on the farm operation risk with Likert scale.
The result of the analysis showed that the factor which had equal effects on the selection of palawija variety, rice varieties, pest controlling, and balance fertilizer used and size of the land operated by the farmers. While, the factors that had different effect were farmer's income, farmer's education level, farmer's age, and information they got. Relating to the farmer's income, the greatest variation or difference of income was on the selection of balance fertilizer of 80,26 percent, and the lowest one is on the selection of palawija variety of 58,97 percent. The farmers' behaviors on the selection of technology showed that, in fact, the farmers tended to take high risk on their farm operations.
