Summary: | Pyrolysis Mass Spectrometry (PyMS) experiment was carried out to investigate the specific fragment-ions of valine and erythromycin in the pyrolysis mass spectra. Individually valine and erythromycin, either in solution or solid state, were examined by running them on PyMS. Casein was used in the experiment for the biological environmental model to mimic cell environment. It was found that m/z 73 was the most specific fragment-ion for valine, and m/z 114 and 115 were the specific ones for erythromycin.
