description ABSTRACT: It has been done a research on the adsorption of methyl 1- [(butylamino)carbony1]-1-H-benzimidazole-2-carbamat (benomyl) on humin in aqueous medium. The sample of humin used in this study was isolated from peat soil taken from village of Siantan Hulu, Pontianak, West Kalimantan. Adsorption aspect studied included effect of pH, adsorption kinetic, and adsorption isotherm of benomyl on humin. This research was initiated with analysis study for determining benomyl by UV-Vis spectrophotometrie method, isolation of humin using alkaline extraction, it's purification, and determination of its functional group contents of humin. The study of adsorption kinetic was performed by studying the effect of interaction time on the adsorption of benomyl on humin, whereas the effect of initial concentration of benomyl was used to investigate the adsorption isotherm. The result showed that quantitatively, the content of each functional group on humin was 115 cmole/kg (-COOH group), 562 cmole/ kg (-OH fenolic group). Benomyl is converted to methyl 1-H-benzimidazole-2-carbamat (MBC) in acid medium and 2-amine-1H-benzimidazole (2-AB) in base medium. 2-AB ionwas adsorbed faster than MBC and 2-AB. The adsorption rate constants (ki) were 2.9x10-3 min-1 for 2-AB ion, 2.6x10-3 min-1 for MBC, and 1.1x10-3 min-1 for 2-AB. The adsorption isotherm of benomyl on humin was consistent to Langmuir isotherm model with adsorption capacities of 1.37x10-4 mole/ g in acid
