A part of area in artificial intelligent, which uses a computer to act like a human and has own ability like an expert, calls the expert system. One of expert system applications in the medicine area is to diagnose any diseases.
An expert system to determine the diagnoses of respiratory diseases, which is preceded by main respiratory disease symptoms and it gives the therapy suggestions has been developed. Problems of uncertainty reasoning in the expert system is overcome by using the Bayesian probability methods. Any knowledge related to the respiratory diseases like symptoms, diseases and also then therapy processed in the form of acceptable knowledge format. Any supporting data to determine values of disease probabilities of diagnose results are processed before entering the system as a part of its knowledge base. This knowledge base then be used to draw conclusion of diagnosing.
The result of this research is the expert system which capable to assist diagnosing any respiratory diseases. The output is the patient's respiratory disease along with its probability value showing the degree of belief system of it resulting disease and its therapy suggestions for the suffered disease.
