Summary: | Hepatitis B Surface Antigen (HBsAG) is one of the indications of viral hepatitis B infection which can occur horizontally or vertically.
The purpose of this study was to examine the prevalence of HBsAG ( + ) sera in the Tulung village, Tulung sub-Distirct, Klaten District, Central Java, and the correlation of HBsAG positivity and the use of diagnostic/therapeutic needles.
This retrospective study indicated that the prevalence was 2% and that there was no strong positive correlation between invasive procedures and viral hepatitis infection.
