The research is aimed to describe women sexuality as talking subjects in the novels of Saman and Larung through opinion and behavior and its relation to their educational and social background which support women's existence as subjects in the society. Besides, this research has shown that the language used by women as subjects in Saman and Larung novels in presenting subjectivity and promoting sexuality as the subject of women in the society.
By using interpretation method, the research translated the usage of language used by subjects who talked in Saman and Larung in performing subjectivity and presenting sexuality as the subject of women in the society. Hereinafter, the research connecting with the existing interpretation according to the psychoanalysis of Lacanian's perspective to present the sexuality of women as subjects who are talking in Saman and Larung.
The result of research pointed out that in Saman and Larung there are four women with different characters in talking sexuality as women subject in the society. The existence of four women is represented Ayu Utami as the novels writer in her perspective of social phenomenon in the society focusing on women subjectivity. In addition, the existence of four women cannot be apart from the different opinion and behavior through the language usage in looking at (defining) the problem of virginity, chastity, love, and marriage. The difference of women as subjects in translating those problems is depend on the individual ability as a subject in performing the system of norm and doctrine including religion through their educational and social backgrounds representing subject's existence in the society.
The individual ability as a subject in presenting sexuality influenced by perspective and behavior of the subject regarding to the system of norm and doctrine including religion in the society that is tend to be patriarchy. Besides that, the sexuality of women subject is also influenced by sexual behav- ior of subject in presenting their sexuality. The appearance of four characters of women as subjects in Saman and Larung represented women sexuality through different opinion and behavior shown the existence of women as subjects in various levels in looking at the problem of virginity, chastity, love, and marriage so there is different opinion and behavior of subject in presenting women sexuality in the society.
