City space arrangement plan is generally represented in thematic maps and in the form of manual map. For handling data and updating data, manual maps have some drawbacks in terms of efficiency, speed, accuracy as well as easiness.
Based on that reasons, manual maps should be converted into digital form using software package such as Arc/Info and Arcview. This research was done to analyze information of city space arrangement plan, which is represented by mean of databade management system, using visual variable analysis technique. Seven perception of visual variables will be evaluated: position, form, orientation, color, texture, value and size. Each of them may have one or more perception properties such as associative perception, selective perception, ordered perception and quantitative perception. |
