The study on this Javanese in Brebes Regency (bJB) is aimed at describing the variations of linguistics elements including phonology, morphology, and lexicon as well as its mapping, describing the features of bJB in comparation with standard dialect (bJS), explaining bJB's situation of variations according to the mapping, and describing those variations in bJB diachronically according to each geographical map of dialect.
In order to support this research appropriatly, three methods are used here. They are method of providing data, method of analyzing data, and method of exlplaining the results of data analysis. Moreover, dialectrometri method is also used to identify the language, dialect, or subdialect variations within bJB.
In general, the bJB's vowel phonemes can be classified into two groups. The firstsroup, the area of observation (2, 5, 6, 8, 9), has 9 vowels, those are / e, E, a, e, T, o, 0, u/ while the othor group, the area of observation (1, 3, 7, 10, 11, 12, 13), has only 8 vowels, namely /i, e, E, a, é, o, 0, u/ The number of consonants are 21,liere are / p, b, t, d, t, d, c, j, k, ?, g, s, h, m, n, r, 1, w, y/.
Correspondence is found in bJB's morphology, that is {d-} (di-). {d-} is used in area of observation (1), in Palimbangan village, and (di-) is usedf in the other area. For example, dambung [dambuh] diambung [diambuh 'to be kissed', dobong [dObO1] diobong [di0b0h] 'to be burned , docek [docEk]
diocek [diocekrto be peeled'.
Meanwhile, in lexical variatios bJB keeps a grat deal forms of inheritance words (bJK). The forms are found in 13 area of observations. The area of observation (3) is a place where the forms found most, while the area of observation (6) is the least one. Therefore, bJB represents conservative area. Meanwhile bJB's lexicon is also influenced by bS, bJDC, and bJB.
Based on diaslectrometri method thus language, dialect, and subdialect variances are found in bJB, while speech variant is not.
