| Summary: | Abstract
Choropleth mapping method is one of the methods which is used in mapping data on population density. Its representation in a map is a -relative way using interval class. There are many systems of interval class, so that we have to make a choice on one of the best class interval system which' represents distribution pattern to reflect the real data.
The aim of this research is to select interval class system which is the most suitable for choropleth population density mapping using quantitative way as an evaluation.
The result of this research is that aritmatic interval class system is the best system, which is chosen to represent population density in this area. If it is compared to the others, aritmatic system have the highest suitability to the real data. The gradation of the suitability are systems of dispersal graph, guanine, equal step and geometric system.
