Summary:The experiment was done to determine the effect of using peanut leaves to replace concentrate and increase roughage percentage in dairy cow diets on milk protein content and milk production. Nine lactating dairy cows were used and were devided into three group of treatments, there were A, B dan C. The dairy cow diets consisted of elephaant grass, peanut leaves and concentrate (rice bran and starlact 1 : 1). Treatment A was 60% elephant grass + 40% concentrate, treatment B was 60% elephant grass + 20% peanut leaves + 20% concentrate and treatment C was 60% elephant grass + 40% peanut leaves. The percentages were based on dry matter requirement. The experiment had been done for three periods. Each period was four weeks. The data collected were feed intake, nutrient intake, milk protein content and milk production. Data were statisticaally analysis with analysis of variance of cross over design.
