Summary:ABSTRACT Intestinal helminthiasis is still considered by villagers in Indonesia as common child disease. Parents do not know well that intestinal helminthiasis may have bad effect on child health. Unhealthy attitude of children results in high number of intestinal helminth. The type of intestinal helminth generally found in children are Ascaris lumbricoides, Trichuris trichiura, Neca-tor americanus and Ancylostoma duodenale. Based on the mode transmission this species is called soil transmitted helminth. Health education for mothers is expected to change the behaviour of mothers and children, so that the number of intestinal helminth may decrease or may be prevented. This was quantitative study of non randomized group using pre-test and post-test design. The subjects were 151 mothers consisting of 80 mothers in the treatment group and 71 mothers on control group. The data were gathered using questionnaires
