| Summary: | The purpose of this research is to find out the setting system of March Ketib related to building conservation. Ketib house is the artefact building, which is extra ordinary and completely building in Kauman Surakarta with the high history ()f. Surakarta palace. The house of Rumah Ketib's is unique and traditional design follow the Surakarta palace. This descriptive qualitative research was based on some data collection techniques including site observation and in-depth interview. Interactive analysis method was employed as the main data analysis technuque. The foundlings are: Ketib house visual character shows a Javanese traditional building with the background of Islam tacking point of views and Javanese palace culture, so include the old building which the reservation. It is a symbol from the behaviour of the people vho live in it from the religion s aspects historiCally traditionally and socio�culturally as a saint building.
