description ABSTRAK The Borobudur temple is one of Indonesia's heritage cultures, and also one of international heritage cultures. This temple is situated in Magelang residency, close to Progo river, and was made of millions of block's stone with andesite in composition. The old story told that those blocks were cemented with natural fluid of white colour of egg. Based on experience when the renovation was done some years ago, the andesite blocks which were arranged very neatly, the arrangement of blocks became very sticky and when each block was removed, the surfaces became damage. A Scaning Electrone Microscope observation has shown that surfaces of blocks which offend each other have been grown millions of spiny calcite crystals which have been formed by recrystalization of feldspar mineral. It is believed that due to the irregular orientation, shape and dimension of calcite crystals, the position of those blocks has become stronger and stronger and sticky each other. as natural cement pretending portland cement. As a result the surfaces of andesitic blocks have become sticky and are difficult to slide. It is a natural process and has taken place for hundrieds of years.
