Based on literature review the losses of livestock and animal _products created by several parasitic diseases of domesticated animals were presented. The cost of parasitic diseases in livestock industry was discussed. It was predicted that with the spectacular advances in the fields of biotechnology the importance and posisition of bacterial and viral diseases in domesticated animals in the years to come might be taken over by diseases created by animal parasites.
