Four species of Culex: C. tritaeniorhynchus, C. gelidus, C. fuscocephalus and C. vishnui were studied to determine their potentialities as vectors in the transmission of Japanese Encephalitis virus to pigs.
The study was conducted in pigs raising area, in Cengkareng, Jakarta 1984. Densities as well as landing rates on pigs, correlation between densities of each species with the infection rates on pigs welt calculated. Infection rates on pigs were determined by serology.
Culex tritaeniorhynchus was the most potential vector followed by. C. gelidus. Culex fuscocephalus and C. vishnui were less potential
