| Summary: | Primary Complex Tuberculosis has still been a kind of important infection disease in Indonesia. The condition of Primary Complex Tuberculosis may optimally be improved through adequate food intake. The adequate food intake has a positive role in increasing nutritional status as an important thing in the process of recovery. One way to improve food intake and nutritional status is through modification diet. This study was aimed at examining the influence of modification diet to food intake and nutritional status of Primary Complex Tuberculosis.
This was a quasi experimental study with pre and post test and control group. The subjects were Primary Complex Tuberculosis aged 1-12 years old and nursed in pediatric ward of Purwakarta's Bayu Asih Hospital. They were divided into two groups, first group received standar diet while other group received modification diet. The data of food intake were obtained with Visual Comstock and Food Record. Nutritional status was analyzed by z-score Weight/Age WHO-NCHS.
The results showed that the mean of energy and protein intake of modification diet group was higher than that of standar diet group. The nutritional status of Primary Complex Tuberculosis was statistically not significant either in treatment group and control group (p>0,05). It was concluded that energy and protein intake of patiens with Primary Complex Tuberculosis with modification diet was better than patiens with standar diet. Nutritional status patiens with Primary Complex Tuberculosis with modification diet was not significantly different from that patiens with standar diet group.
