| Summary: | ABSTRAK
Prepare of the soil in Kemudo Prambanan Klaten was making use of wet and dry land cultivation. It was necessary to improvement of soils by using embankment with soil about 1,50 m depth and 40,000-m2 areas.
Embankment materials was implement in laboratory for many characteristics of soils. Laboratory test of the soil sample is grain size distribution for knowing of the type and characteristics of the soil. Number of sample for this study is five locations, and than compaction with smooth drum, and field study are CBR test and
CPT.
Result of this study is fill material from Jombor area and number of optimum pass are 8 passing with maximum compaction in field more than 95 % compaction proctor standard. Value of CPT are more than 200 kg/cm2 (q, > 200 kg/cm2) and value of CBR are 15 % - 20 %.
