Summary: | In the Indonesian context, the term "Y)ublic service" is generally related to those which in the international literature are referred to as licensing and regulating. There is a current change, however, to reconcotualise public service deliveries so as to meet with the clients' demands. In this case study of the creation of one-stop service ystem in the district of Sleman, respondents say that they are quite satisfied with the new ystem. Surprisingly, most of them say thatpublic services are still time-consuming. It is recommended that public officials should have a better understanding on theprinciples of public service in order to be able to create a more efficient gstems andprocedures.
