Summary:Geology, geophysics and geochemistry methods are common tools in geothermal explora¬tion. By geochemistry method, before the deep drilling activities, one could estimate the re¬servoir temperatures by using the geothemometer or geochemistry formula. There are seve¬ral formulas, which based on cation, gas, and isotope contents on geothermal fluids. The most common used formula is the Na/K or Na-K-Ca geothermpmeter.This paper presents the validation test for Na-K and Na-K-Ca geothermometer formula by using the hot spring che¬mical data that were sampled from Dieng geothermal field and the monitoring deep well chemistry data from Awibengkok geothermal field. The validation test indicate these for¬mula did not indicate a good reservoir temperature if it were compared to the real tempera¬ture data from the deep well measurement in Dieng area. It is contrary to that of Awibeng¬kok data.The data of Awibengkok field is then used to search a new formula by multiple regression method and this new formula appears more accurate if it is compared to the deep well real temperature.
