Summary: | The information temperature of rough rice in silo is required to determine the exact time for giving aeration (addition aereal from outside to reduce heat that excessive). The direct measurement of rough rice temperature is difficult because building condition of silo is difficult to reach or if possibly is needed a great cost. The research is aimed to predict rough rice temperature in the overall silo measuring temperature of silo wewalls and intensity of sun radiation.
The mathematical model for predicting temperature rough rice developed based on conduction heat transfer analysis, three dimensions, unsteady state and non-heat generation. The model was solved by numerically with finite difference methods. Model inputs consist of thermal properties of rough rice, temperature of silo walls and intensity of sun radiation.
The result of predicting temperature is compared with the result observation to some point on rough rice which is restored in silo with electronic temperature instruments. Validity test of the model with statistical analysis, the result of coefficient determination (R2) average 0,939 and average of standard error 0,521. The conclusions of this research that the mathematical model can be used to predict rough rice temperature in silo for giving aeration command.
