Summary:Harmonics are caused by non linear load. When more harmonics-producing loads are connected to systems which are unbalanced, the effect of single phase harmonic-producing loads are becoming important. Unbalance load in three phases system which increases non linearly, affected energy consumption in power system. This research is intended to know how much harmonic affecting unbalance three phase load, to know reduction harmonic, and to know energy saving as a result of reduction harmonic in unbalance three phases load. Programs created and simulated using rnathlab to know broadband filter parameter base on harmonic characteristic in three phases load. Measurements are done to know current and voltage harmonic level at the source and system before and after filter installation, and calculation of percentage saving of power consumption. This research shows that the effect of increasing percentage of current harmonic level on load side will increase the percentage level of load unbalanced. Installing filter will increase percentage of current harmonic although the fundamental value is decreased. The unbalanced current load averages 19.42% before filter installation compare with 23.79% after installation. Currents consumption system reduces 42% in average, power factor increases 117% from 0.407 to 48.3%. Reactive power reduces up to 88,5% and apparent power decreaces up to 48.3%. Because of power consumption at filter, Real power reduction did not happen. All savings that related to the energy depend on time when the load used.
