Description
Summary:Fire disaster striking concrete'construction causes damages of structural elements, especially on both strength and stiffness of the structure. The damage level is not always the same, because there are many factors affecting the damage, for instance the duration of burning, the seventy of fire, the quality and types of structural material. Generally, after fire disaster, the strength of the structure is tested. The experiment was done by heating concrete cylinder and concrete beams samples at temperature of 200°C, 300°C, 400°C, 500°C, and 600°C. From the concrete cylinder test it could be found the concrete compressive strength (f c) at various burning temperature, while the test on the concrete beam, the concrete modulus of elasticity (Ec), concrete frequency (w) and damping factor (z) could be calculated. The results indicated that after being burnt, the compressive strength, modulus of elasticity, natural frequency, and damping factor of the concrete decreased with the increase of temperature.
