Description
Summary:ABSTRACT: The study was conducted to know the efficacy of monovalent and polyvalent vaccines on African catfish to control Aeromonas hydrophila under field conditions. Under field conditions vaccination did not cause significant difference of mortality rates, fish production and profit between vaccinated fish and unvaccinated fish. It because the vaccinated fish was released into the pond right after vaccination before the antibody was produced. The average mortality rates of vaccinated fish were 7.8-14.3% while unvaccinated fish were 10.5-18.3%, production of vaccinated fish was 54.3 kg/pond and from unvaccinated fish was 49.0 kg/pond. The profit was Rp. 31,125.00 /pond of vaccinated fish compared to Rp. 20,800.00 /pond of unvaccinated fish.
