Because of the bad effect of drugs abuse, some efforts were done by the government and society to cope with, There should be educational efforts and health promotion, One of the appropriate health educational methods is a group-discussion method. This study was aimed to improve the knowledge and attitude of youth concerning with drugs abuse among students of Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) or Islamic high school and students of state high school (SMUN) after getting health education through a group-discussion method. This was a quasi-experimental study using time-series approach. The health education was given through a group discussion among two different characteristics of students, i.e. students of religious-based high school (MAN) and general education-based high school of SMUN. The subjects were students of MAN and SMUN in Tanjung Jabung Barat, Jambi Province. The measurement for respondents' knowledge and attitude used pretest, posttest-1 and posttest-2 (one month after). Data analysis was done using T-test to find out the difference of knowledge and attitude between the two groups of students. The mean for knowledge increased into 15.66 + 4.32 for MAN students, and 17.31 + 3.03 for SMUN students but there was no significant difference (p0.05). the difference of attitude value in the posttest 1 between the two groups of students was statistically significant (p
