description ABSTRACT The present study deals with the characteristics of the pseudoplastic fluid flow of pulp in a horizontal transparent pipe which are influenced by mass concentration changes and the form of the pipe. The effect of mass concentration on the transparent pipe have been investigated. The mass concentrations of pulp were varied from 0.55%, 1.1%, 2.2% to 4.4 % with a range of flow rate from 0.2 to 2.45 L/ s. It was found that the friction coefficient, apparent viscosity, and rheology of flow were significantly affected by mass concentrations and the form of the pipe. The greatest friction coefficient of power law fluid was CL = 0.12492 with Reg = 141, n = 0.842, and k = 0.10782, but for newtonian fluid the greatest friction coefficient was CL = 0.05051 with Re = 327.
